Christopher Lisney (BA Hons) is an artist blacksmith living and working in Gloucestershire in the UK. He specialises in original, quirky, large scale sculptural metalwork and is a regular exhibitor at the world renowned RHS Chelsea Flower Show in London.

Since graduating in 3D Design from the University of Brighton, Christopher has designed and made a selection of distinctive individual pieces. Clients include, Selfridges, Sanderson, Yeo Valley Organics, James Cook University Hospital and Cancer Research UK. He has exhibited widely including New York, Amsterdam, Earls Court and the Business Design Centre (London).

Christopher has concentrated on garden sculpture since 1999. The majority of his work is created for private gardens. He has also undertaken a number of prestigious public art commissions, for schools, hospitals, churches, architects and local authorities. Pittville Pedestrian Community Bridge, spanning 21.5M (70’), completed in 2012, is the largest and most challenging to date. The bridge is now greatly appreciated and has been adopted by the community, and become a local landmark, making all the problem solving and hard work worthwhile.

He works predominantly in hot forged steel, which is galvanised to produce a strong weather resistant coating. Each piece is carefully fettled and hand finished. Finally Christopher patinates the sculptures at his forge, to produce a variety of soft grey hues, which ‘sit’ well in both traditional and contemporary settings. Christopher also makes a limited range of UK cast bronze sculptures.

His designs are innovative interpretations of what inspires him in everyday life.

Christopher Lisney’s work is held in collections in the UK, Europe and beyond.

All sculpture designs are made to order.
